Well another one behind us, this one was the first one in which we added a competitive aspect to the exhibition. We hoped to lure in more artists, as well as give artists the oppurtunity to exhibit their work with the possibility of winning the prize, and selling their work. We believe that we have achieved this and although there where some hiccups (which we will iron out), we had a great exhibition and competition, and hope that we can attract more artists in the years to come.

The public vote was a scary notion for artists and organisers alike, but in the end sanity prevailed and the pieces chosen where worthy.

We will be starting preparations for next years exhibition, in the coming week and hope to provide an improved exhibition in 2015.

We would like to thank all those who artists who participated, who where prepared to bare their souls to public scrunity, as well as the following:

  • The Arts Commitee of Calitzdorp
  • van Rensburgs Auctioners, especially Frederick Bekker, (who coached us in the finer points of extracting bids)
  • 3rd Generation in George
  • Precision Electrical in George
  • Acorn Projects in George
  • Rosemary Light from Chas Everitt
  • Kannaland Municipality
  • De Steyl Furniture Manufacturers in George
  • Die Dorpshuis
